weekend fun and iphones

Jared and I caught the Christmas spirit during our Carol of Lights weekend and treated the kids to an afternoon at Holland Gardens picking out Christmas ornaments for the year and visiting Santa. Yes, that was the best picture...jeez it is hard to get 5 kids looking at you at the same time.

We also treated them to a movie, in the theater. That is a BIG deal at our house because it has happened, counting Saturday, once. We saw Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. If you ask the kids what movie they saw you will get that entire title. It was fun to have that experience as a family.

As the day was winding to a close, I asked Eric what his favorite part of the trip was. I'm expecting accolades for allowing him to go to the Carol of Lights, visit Santa, get a Christmas ornament, or watch a movie...in a theater no less. His answer:

"Playing on Uncle Brent's iphone. The car racing game is SOOO COOL!"

Nice, we could have done that for free!

Sounds like a fun-filled weekend that will likely be remembered for a long time! I'm glad that you guys got to do it all, yes ALL! Even the free racing game on the Iphone! :)

Isn't that always how it goes?

That is how my kids always are. It gets hard to want to spend the $$$ when they don't really care. I know deep down that they will remember the experience in the end.
