Carol of Lights

Jared's Dad has been doing the sound for Texas Tech's Carol of Lights for like 30 years...ok, maybe only 25. So, it has a very special place in our hearts as far as Texas Tech Traditions go. I love listening to the trombone choir, Oh Holy Night, and watching the campus light up at just the right moment. It is a beautiful night full of family and fun. We try to never miss a year even though we have moved away from Lubbock. This year was the 50th anniversary and it was cold and wonderful. We look forward to many more wonderful Carol of Lights!

The Family

Kyra's 1st Carol of Lights...she was just fed and very happy. It is difficult to nurse a baby when you have on 6 layers, but it can be done...just in case you were wondering.

Amy was like a little marshmallow in her coat.

Ian was intense. Is anyone surprised?

Eric enjoyed the hat that kept him oh so warm.

Tara was a social butterfly chatting with the whole family.

I loved having all the kids with me, sharing something I love.

Can't wait until next year...

Looks like it was fun. No vomit, either!

By the way...
I don't know about nursing but Eskimo babies sit in their own poo for days at a time. It keeps them warm. I read this useful bit of trivia in Lauren's "Truth about Poop" book.

This is me being horribly jealous. We used to go every year too. Stupid California. They don't have ANYTHING here!
