Getting Breakfast

All of my kids (except Amy obviously) know how to get their own breakfast. I guess I am doing a pretty good job of raising independent children. When Ian came in this morning and told me he was hungry, I told him to go get some breakfast. I assumed he would get some cereal and pour his milk like always. I was busy looking at the grocery ads, making my shopping list, and planning the weekly menu. I got to a stopping point and went to check on him.

I was surprised to find the kitchen empty. I did a quick check of the house and found Ian in the girls' room...eating breakfast. Yes, that is ravioli with sausage and he is eating it with a spoon, but he is happily eating so I say why not! He told me he was eating at his table and that he went shopping for his food (notice the play grocery cart in the background) Works for me. One less leftover that will get moldy and I have to toss out in 2 weeks because I forgot it was in the fridge!

Yummmm...cold ravioli! Although knowing Ian, he probably did climb onto the counter and heat it up himself in the microwave, huh!

Ian is too funny! I hope he enjoyed his shopping trip and didn't forget anything on his list!

See how good you are. I would have freaked out because it could stain the carpet. I love that you have understanding for the cute things that your kids do. I am to quick to fly off the handle. Teach me!
