Root Beer

Making root beer was a tradition in Jared's family growing up. They would give it away for Christmas gifts. How exciting would it be to get that from a friend down the street? I've been working on making family time into something the kids will remember and not just watching movies together. So, I decided what the heck, let's do root beer.

The kids loved it, well more specifically they loved the dry ice.
Who can blame them? It is awesome stuff.

Let me just say that the making of root beer was much better than the drinking of the root beer. I have to find a better concentrate or never make the stuff again. What we used just wasn't strong enough. Our root beer tasted like carbonated water, but smelled like root beer. Don't tell the kids though. They swear it was the best stuff they have ever had.

I LOVE rootbeer. I didn't even know that you could make it. Regardless of how it tasted, it seems you guys had a blast making it.

We make rootbeer every Halloween. The one I use is just McCormick's. It is pretty good. This is one of our favorite traditions. Now making it for everyone for Christmas is a huge undertaking. Have fun with that.

Did you try it for root beer floats? I think it is wonderful that you are trying to do things where you interact together; such a sweet family!
