We tried to do some fun things while our BFFs were back. The trip to Carlsbad was my favorite. I spent the car ride there with the boys, the walk down with the girls, and drove home with Steph. I got special time with everyone. It was great.
Even being with her best friends can't calm Tara's fear. She really doesn't like heights. I wonder where that comes from? Jared and I both love them. She was fine when we got past the big hole.
How cute are these stair steps? Between the two families we have kids ages 11,10,9,8,7,6,4, and two 3 year olds!
Amy carried that back pack full of water bottles almost the entire time. I planned on doing it, but since it was in HER back pack, she wouldn't hear of it.
This is the look you get at the end of a long hike, when you insist on helping with that huge back pack of water! She is so stinking determined and when she decides she can do something, no one can stop her. It is a quality I love and fear. I pray I will be able to direct that for good. If I do, that girl will be an amazing woman. If I don't, heaven help us!
The kids' favorite part was the gift shop. It just about did me in!

Wow, how fun! Sounds like you guys really enjoyed there visit!
Your Amy sure reminds me of Nathan's and Erin's Lizzy. I think some of it came from Mary Fielding Smith. Amy will do just fine.
