Did you know I have twins?

obviously a while ago, but here are the "twins"

I entered the doctor's office waiting room carrying two 18month olds and holding a toddler's hand on one side and a preschooler's hand on the other. We just had to drop off some paper work. In and out in no time.

A fellow patient looked at me and asked, "Are they all yours?" In the interest of time (because explaining that I am babysitting a friend's baby while she's at a chemo appointment takes time) I answered yes. I was hoping they would follow up with "you have your hands full" and I could smile and nod and leave.

Except it didn't.

"So they're twins?" Having already answered that they we all mine I didn't know how else to proceed and mumbled an, "Um, yeah." Now I was uncomfortable because I realized my quick answer was leading in a dangerous direction. "Oh, I have twin granddaughters. They are about the same age. It's a lot of work, twins. These two must be fraternal," continued my conversation partner. "Yes," I stammered uncomfortably. Oh man! I'm lying up a storm just because I wanted to get out of the office faster. I spoke with her for another five minutes about twins, much to my discomfort.

Note to self: Tell the truth.

That is so hilarious! And honest. I think we've all told quick lies before, only to realize we've only gotten ourselves into more trouble.

The week Kirsta watched Kalena for me she said she kept taking Kalena and Patrick places hoping someone would ask if they were twins just so she could say yes! But she didn't get asked until church (in a new ward) and she didn't think she should lie there, especially since those people would be seeing her every week.

Nice one. I was just thinking that you need to put up some more current pictures of Kyra. I don't know what she looks like anymore. so consider it requested.

Isn't having twins great? LOL Now you know how a typical day is for me. LOL I did the same thing one time when I had my friends little girl. Sometimes it is just easier to say that they are all yours. =c)

I think the lie is much, much more fun!

You have your hands full anyway, I say the little white lies just made it even more fun! :) Plus all the kids (even the ones that aren't yours) are cute, so claim as many as you can. Plus with a body like yours claiming twins (or 5 kids) is just amazing anyway! :)

It is not a lie, it is practice for your acting career!

Wow, they really do look alike. And so much for trying to get in and out quickly, huh.

Okay, I think they could be identical twins. In that picture at least.

I had a lady once ask me if Ellie had a little down syndrome. I was baffled by the question so I was going to say "Ya, like 50%" Then I realized i would have to explain how I knew it was 50%. I knew that I had would have been treating her like she was an idiot so then I had to explain that she was an idiot. heheheheheh I don't know why I just told you that story it has nothing to do with anything but hey, I liked it.
