Uhm, Never

We were rushing out the door to go on vacation. That is my only excuse for my distraction. I was trying to give Kyra her medicine and clean the kitchen and get Amy dressed and calm down a tantruming Ian and you get the point.

I took the lid off the medicine, did something, and then shook it. Clearly that wasn't wise and my kitchen, myself, and my baby were wearing pink liquid sticky.

I called the pharmacy and they confirmed what I already knew. I needed more medicine, so I went to the pharmacy and waited for them to refill Kyra's prescription.

As I was making small talk with the pharmacist, I explained how the medicine was spilled. Then I asked, "So, how often does that happen?"

Silence.

"It really doesn't ma'am," replied the pharmacist without even a twinkle in his eye.

Oh.

When I was little we were making milkshakes and I didn't wait for my mom to put the lid on the blender before I turned it on. That made quite the mess.

P.S. I bet other moms just don't admit what actually happened.

Oh he just doesn't talk to anyone that admits how it happens. It does happen.

i've done similar things. i'm guessing it happens all the time with all the distracted mommies out there. ;)

That's because the pharmacist was a man. LOL I do things like that all the time. It's hard to do 20 things at once. =c)

Well, we must not use the same pharmacy. I did that during the spring when all my kids had strep. I think it only happens when the mom is really stressed out, sleep deprived, and feeling overrun! Your pharmacist must not deal with many mothers in that boat! :)

Those pharmacists have absolutely zero sense of humor!

I can so visualize this happening!

(did it come out of your clothes?)

Have a good vacation!

I am a pharmacist, and I have a sense of humor (I think), and I have heard of WAAAAAAYYYY weirder things happening to people's medicines (but usually they are lying and a kiddo's antibiotic is not what they are trying to get more of). Hope you have a good vacation!

I am sure it DOES happen. The other mothers surely lied and blamed it on the kids.
I did it once with a bottle of Italian (Full Fat Version) dressing. The carpet was covered with oil stains forever...

Laura, do you remember the salad dressing at Thanksgiving that ended up on your mom's drapes thanks to our Ben? When you have kids, messes happen.

I can't even count anymore the things that I have shaken with the cap off--including children's sticky medicine!

I have totally done this. I had taken the lid off and then the baby was swirming so i just set the lid on the bottle to get htem back in the midicine giving headlock when i thought i should shake it up first... oops forgot i had taken the lid off first. I felt really stupid.. i didnt know you could go back to the pharmacist. I just gave the rest of the meds and hoped it was enough. Hmmm maybe this is why my poor theo cant hear becuase his mommy didnt fully treat the ear infection.
