Reading Time

Eric has started Kindergarten this year and loves it. His class has a standing homework assignment every night to do some reading. His teacher has sent home some books for him to be able to read. Basically it is helping them learn sight words like "the" "my" "a" etc.

Every time I tell Eric it is time to do his reading, he brings his books to me. The first few nights we read the school books sent home like Hey Diddle Diddle and This Little Pig. Lately he has been bringing me a new book to read.

We are still working on the Introduction page, but he is so excited about reading the Book of Mormon. He wants to read the entire book. I'm so proud of Eric. He is a really good example to me.

That's awesome! I love being humbled by my children. Lincoln gave away a Book of Mormon in Kindergarten, I'm so impressed with kids and their unabashed willingness to give to others.

I love when I kids teach us what we should be doing. That will be a huge accomplishment when he finishes. Good pick Eric.

Reading the Book of Mormon really helped my kids with their reading. It's great that they have to sound out words because they aren't the standard ones on the words to memorize by sight. But the best thing is that when they become familiar with the doctrine they are reading they will really do well in all aspects of their life.
Laura, I am so impressed with you, your sweet family, and your budding missionary.
