It is easier to get forgiveness than permission.
We all know that adage. I wonder when we all learned the truth to that statement? Were we 12, 25, or 3?
Ian has learned that already. This morning he asked for yogurt and I told him, "if you can get it yourself, go ahead." I finished what I was working on and went back to the kitchen where Ian intercepted me. He was wearing his puppy dog eyes. Uh-oh.
"Mom, I'm sorry I used too many spoons." Wow, and just like that I wasn't even upset, just amused. Had he asked if he could use 9 spoons for breakfast I would surely have said one is enough.
Amazing, the principle works!

I just wonder why he thought he should use all those spoons.
i hope you aren't having soup for lunch... no spoons! :)
That kid is too much! Sometimes don't you wonder what they're thinking? :)
I have an Ian. JJ is my one that comes up with the craziest things and then wonders why they drive me nuts. They just get more inventive as the years go by. Good luck.
He's always so clever!
