So, it is official my kids are feeling better after 7 weeks of sickness! I knew they were better when we had a "cracker war". I was making baby shower invitations and as soon as they were finished I knew I needed to move them off of the kitchen table and into the safety of my room. It was a process that took one big trip and then some organization in my room to put supplies away. When I went back to the kitchen to make sure I hadn't missed anything, it was covered in broken ritz crackers.
I had no idea how a previously clean kitchen could be transformed so quickly. I called the boys in to the kitchen assuming, correctly so, that they were the culprits. I asked Eric, "What happened in here." "Oh, we were just having a cracker war," was his reply. What is a cracker war?!? Eric quickly explained that a cracker war is when you throw a cracker at your enemy (ie,brother) and try not to get hit by his crackers. I told him that was a bad idea. Ian and Eric were instructed in how to clean up a cracker war and told they could explain the "art of war" to their dad when he got home from work!
Ian flat out refused to do the explaining which left the burden on Eric. I could tell Jared was enjoying the story entirely too much, which really means I should have made him help with the clean up too! Eric's conclusion of the story is perhaps the best part. "Dad, you throw crackers at each other and try not to get hit. I only got hit twice!"

Boy, I can't wait to have a cracker war in our kitchen! :) I love this, but you probably would have wanted to make me clean up the crackers, too...I would have been too interested/humored by the story!
Love it! Glad they are feeling better. Now we can finally get the girls together. Let's cross our fingers that it lasts!
Your kids are so creative and adorable. Isn't it hard to hold in the laughs and smiles while trying to discipline?
