I have been waiting to post pictures of the new house for a couple of reasons. First, I wanted our furniture. Second, I wanted the house clean in the pictures. Those things are just taking too long to complete, so here it goes...
Little Girls' Room
What I love about this room is the natural light and the fact that there is room to play. In the old house the little ones never got toys out because there wasn't room and their big sister would be mad about the mess in her room. What a change. It has been so fun watching them rediscover how to play and imagine.
Tara's Room
What I love about this room is that Tara has a place to be alone. She is at a totally different level than the little girls and combining them was proving difficult. Tara's meltdowns have decreased significantly since she became the owner of her own space. She has also taken some real responsibility to keep it clean. I also love her design choices...and they were hers. She did a great job of creating a room that is mature, but not too mature. (Maybe she could help her mom with some designing elsewhere in the house.)
The girls have a Jack n Jill bath which is so nice! Unfortunately it hasn't helped with the peed bed issues. I can't have everything.
The Boys' Room
This room is huge! It is cold in the winter and I'm betting hot in the summer. The boys are in love and I'm just glad they have room for lego creations and such. I like that this room is down the hall from the girls (there is a bathroom between them) It provides a bit of a buffer. I also like that all of the kid rooms are on one side of the house. Toys stay out of my living room now!
Front Living Room
The Piano and Computer Room
I can be standing in my kitchen and look out those windows and see the kids playing in the front. I love that. My old house you couldn't see into the front at all.
The Kitchen
The Main Living Room
The Master Bedroom
The Back Yard
I'm still waiting for my sister to come visit and say, "you should put a _____ here," because I'm not a decorator so the walls and surfaces stay bare otherwise. Unfortunately for me, she is pregnant with twins so likely will be unable to travel to my house for at least another year. Maybe I will have actually have a "decorate the house fund" by then.

WOW Laura, that is beautiful. I am so happy for you and your family...and that kitchen is to die for. How exciting for you guys. Enjoy it, you deserve it.
I love your new house too! I understand wanting to wait to post pictures. I am being that way too. I just wanted to wait until everything was finished. It looks like it is the perfect house for your family. I LOVE your kitchen too. The island is my favorite part!
It's a gorgeous house. :) I know what you mean about decorating. I keep looking at my walls and frowning then putting the pics and stuff back in a box.
Love, love, love your new space!!! And I'm totally in love with each of your new rugs! They are beautiful. I'm digging your new chairs and can't wait to see the new couch too.
So...I'm thinking Molly, the twins, and I need to make a road trip to Midland this summer. You keep working on that decorating budget, and we could TOTALLY have some fun. :)
I love you new house, Laura, and am so excited for all of the space you have now! I kinda like how clean and simple and uncluttered it is. Don't be in a rush to fill it; that will come sooner than you think.
