Hi-ya!

Ian is and has always been the defender of the underdog. He can't stand to watch someone getting hurt, and I have never seen him turn a blind eye to it. He will march right over to the culprit and stick up for the little guy. He usually does this with his fists. It was just a matter of time before this happened at school.

Ian saw a friend getting pushed. He couldn't stand it and began yanking the culprit away from his friend. Unfortunately for Ian, his teacher only saw the end of the altercation...the part where Ian was yanking on another student. He was in trouble and rightfully so since Ian didn't bother to explain his actions.

We talked about how it is always right to help others, but maybe he could have done it in a way that he wouldn't get in trouble. I asked him to think about how else the situation could have been handled.

After a few minutes of thinking about it he told me, "I know Mom. I could have shown him my moves," while mimicking his best karate-kid kick.

I was going for tell your teacher...

I love it. I think that is a good idea. JJ gets bullied a bit and I would love if he had an Ian.

At least he sticks up for the little guy, that's awesome! :) Telling the teacher isn't the best way to show the moves off, c'mon!
