Daddy Kitty's good side
When I went away to college, my Nana sent a stuffed cat that made a purring sound when you moved him. It was supposed to ease the transition from home and pets to dorm room. It did help, and over time the stuffed cat became a fixture on my bed. By the time I had Tara it was just another thing in the house. Then it became the one thing that Tara couldn't live without. That poor stuffed animal has been through it all. He used to look like a cat too...before I dried him accidentally after a long night of cleaning throw up. He lost an eye once, but hot glue worked its miracle. He has been left in Lubbock and mailed home, found at friend's houses, and finally carefully placed at the foot of Tara's bed. He is thread bare almost everywhere and the stuffing he used to have has been loved away.
When he is missing, I usually find him here.
That picture reminded me so much of Tara that I went searching until I found one of her.
I don't know what magic power this little stuffed animal holds. It's been Tara's most loved possession since she was 6 mos old, and every other one of our children have had the pleasure? of being tickled by his tail when Tara was feeling genrous enough to share. It seems that Kyra has fallen under Daddy Kitty's spell, too.
I usually carefully take him away to his rightful resting place though. No one knows how much longer Daddy Kitty can hold together. He is hanging on by a string...literally.

Daddy kitty looks very loved. I think we're headed down that same road with Will's bear.
That is a very sweet story! My kids never had any things they absolutely love and can't live without. Well, maybe for Olivia, it is me :) She'll have to get over that soon though! haha
I think somewhere out there, Nana's smiling a little bit bigger today. :)
Love the picture of Tara!! What a sweet story! We have a smilar story with Allison Lamb. Although we lost him for good and through ebay and 50 dollars later lamb returned hasnt been lost in 3 years!
What a precious story! What a loved little kitty!

I second Becky's comment. I have missed reading your blogs in the morning.
So glad to see you posting again. And what a sweet story. Does Daddy Kitty still purr?
