Sweet Tooth

Amy has a sweet tooth.

She comes by it naturally. You see, I like to have cookies for breakfast. I can't let my kids have them though because that would be bad parenting. Better for them to learn early what a double standard is, right?

Occasionally I'm not sneaky enough and Amy will catch me with a cookie in hand and beg for one. Which means we have the following conversation, every single time.

Amy: Can I have a cookie?
Me: Not for breakfast. (see double standard)
Amy: But Mommy, I'm darving!
Me: How about some cereal?
Amy: But, I'm darving for cookies.

We have the same double standard around here. In fact, I'm pretty sure I've had that exact same conversation before!

What an ADORABLE picture! I'm worse than you...sometimes I let my kids indulge with me, especially if it's a special occasion where we happen to have some apple pie on hand. Must run in the family!

If I lived in your house I wouldn't ask for a cookie, I would get up early and sneak them for breakfast. In fact, Lauren was eating a cookie from Fudruckers and she said, "Man, that cookie was good. Not as good as Laura's, though."

My kids have the double standard with diet coke.
"Mom, can I have some diet coke?"
"No, it isn't good for you."
"Why do you drink it, then?"
"Duhhhhh?????"

LOL...you sound like me. Matt and I hide in our laundry room when we are eating something we know that they will want. We call it "closet eating". LOL It is fun to be an adult. LOL

Caleb does the same thing to me. We have that conversation a lot. It's good to know I'm not the only mean parent :)

That is great. I will have chocolate chip cookies, or brownies, or donuts, or gee is this why the weight is catching up with me. Anyway we have definitely had this conversation in our home. Sometimes I figure a brownie and a pancake are pretty much the same thing, right? So why not.

Did she get a cookie for breakfast on her birthday? You know I'm not an overly sweets person, but hey, for your birthday you should get special treatment.
