Bill of Rights

There comes a point in time when your children's "treasures" expand beyond the drawers and dresser tops that can hold them.

I asked for the dresser to be cleaned.
I gave an assignment for the dresser to be cleaned.
I made an ultimatum...the dresser will be cleaned.

I was making good progress throwing away old candy wrappers, half chewed up chapsticks, dried up nail polish, and rocks from the driveway when I stumbled upon something that caught my attention.

See the scroll of rolled up paper?

I felt the need to snoop and read what was inside. Click the picture to enlarge it enough to read.

That my friends is a modified version of Amendment 4 of the Bill of Rights, you know search and seizure.

I felt guilty for violating her inalienable rights for about 15 seconds. Then I decided that as judge of this house she was guilty of slothfulness and I was well within my authority of a mother.

That is hilarious. What a smart child though. I wonder if that would have worked on my mom when she read my journal... :)

She is an amazing girl, isn't she? Wow, I'd just start putting money away for law school now, you're going to need it! :) However, as a mother I totally think your rights trump hers, any day...

That is a "thinker" you've got there! This is the best story I've heard all week.

Well, since she's underage, isn't it legally all your stuff anyway?

So stinkin' smart! Wow. Good luck when she's 15! That's the funniest thing I've read in a long time.

Wow! She is one smart cookie! You can search if there was evidendce on top of the dresser, in plain sight, like a joint on the seat of someone's car.

I just love Tara. She really is one smart cookie. You are right though. As mom you are judge, jury and numero uno!
