Mini Me

One of my vivid childhood memories was when I was about five years old. It was late at night (to me, but it was probably like 9pm), and I was busy carving my name into the headboard of my bed with a safety pin. Yep, parents loved that, I'm sure. I also offered to etch my sister's name into her bed. She accepted and not all the letters are going the right direction!

Eric has been marking his territory as of late too. So far the bricks on the house, Jared's work bench, any lose paper, and big pink jumbo erasers have fallen victim to his need to identify his belongings.

It is actually a little more serious than you think. It was the only topic of discussion at the recent parent/teacher conference that didn't begin with "Eric is so good at..." It went more like this. "It upsets the other children in our class when all the erasers have Eric's name inscribed on them." Please let me know how to keep a straight face while having this conversation! In my head I'm thinking, "Is that the worst thing he does? Dude, I'm so lucky to have an awesome kid!"

Here's to marking your territory!

You are lucky. How did you react? I'm sure you were smiling, how did she respond to that? :)

That's funny! At least it's not peeing on stuff, right?

I knew it had to have been your idea! Want a picture to post of the bed? I'll send one to ya, cause now the bed is Molly's. Wonder if her name will end up next to mine at some point?
