We were really surprised when Tara decided that she wanted to play soccer. She has never really been the type to be into sports. So when she told us she wanted to play soccer instead of just signing her up we asked "why?"
Her response was, "well if I'm going to miss Saturday morning cartoons to go to soccer games, I might as well be playing." Since this line of reasoning was a bit flimsy, we had a talk about not quitting half way through the season, etc.
We signed her up and she is on the BUGGZ. I think she was happy to have a purple uniform....
Saturday was her first game and she did so good! Tara scored two goals, blocked one of the other team's attempted goals, and had a perfect throw-in so her teammate could score a goal.
Here she is right in the mix of things...
It was fun to see her determination and her competitive spirit have a constructive outlet! I can't wait to see her next game! Look at her stride...

Brooklyn told me she'd rather play soccer than do dance class. Where did you get Tara signed up? And how old do they have to be?
No way!!! WAY TO GO TARA!! Good for her...and she's definitely got the legs to be a fast runner down the field! And I bet Eric was proud of his big sis and her soccer debut.
Isn't soccer the best! Lincoln's been playing since he was three. Savannah will probably start next season, she wants to play "soccer ball" too!
I love how all the kids are all clumped around the ball....I remember those days! She sounds like a natural to me!
You go girl! She's a pro already! We'll have to watch for her when we go for Kylan's games.
That's awesome that she is so good at it. Goes to show we never know unless we try. :)
Someone needs to teach my kids how to be aggressive in sports. Way to go Tara.
