It hasn't happened in so long here! I didn't even wash my car, but I did load all the kids up to go to the pool, drive there, unload, get stuff settled, and then the thunder sounded and the pool closed. I'm telling you my kids were SOOO excited to load back up into the van without even getting wet!
It took about 45min after we got home for the rain to actually come. The kids were already in pjs, but what the heck why not go play in the rain!
They had a blast! I know Ian is only in underwear, but somethings just aren't worth fighting over...

I miss the west Texas thunderstorms! Ah, the crash and boom of lightning and thunder and then of course the river of water that runs through the streets.
It looks like the kids had a great time. Did you get out there too? Too fun.
I wanted to be out there too! I miss the carefree days of galavanting in the rain caring nothing about stringy, wet hair and runny mascara. Now I'm a stick-in-the-mud mommy who's kids didn't even get to out (because Shane thinks it's dangerous...whatever) :)
There is nothing better then a good summer rain. I love to walk in the rain. It is still one of my favorite things to do.
Nothing beats playing in the rain! Certainly one of our favorite past-times...when the opportunity presents itself. Wish we could do it more often!
what a cool mom!
