I came into my room to get my shower done when I got distracted. I remembered that I needed to send an email about an upcoming Ward Activity. I kept thinking as I was typing, "I really should be in the shower instead." I just couldn't get there.
Next thing I know I hear one of the screams parents HATE and a HUGE crashing noise.
I ran to my boys room to find this.

I could see Eric's head and the top of his shoulders, but I could only hear Ian. I lifted the dresser up enough to tell the boys to crawl out from under it. Eric was basically fine, just scared and a little sore. Ian was gushing blood. Good thing his bath towel was right there to soak up all the blood from his nose. The first thing I thought was, "I don't know how to tell if he has a broken nose or not." The next thing I thought was, "Oh, this is why I couldn't seem to get into the shower." Thank heavens for the spirit even when we don't realize that is what it is.
It took a while for him to calm down and for the bleeding to stop...about 20 minutes. That is an eternity! During that time Eric was great bringing Ian ice and his blue doggy and doing anything else I asked. Tara was quite the helper too. She tried her best to get Amy in a diaper. Look close at the picture and you can tell Amy's diaper is on backwards. How did Tara even manage that?

Jared got home just as the blood and tears stopped and he held Ian for a while.

This morning when Ian woke up his eye was almost swollen shut.

These pictures don't do it justice. It looks even worse in real life.
This is what it looks like now.

Ian lost in a bar fight!

According to the doctor's office we need to wait 3 days for swelling to go down and then determine if the nose is broken. I'm thinking he is ok just a really bad shiner!

The spirit is amazing. I'm glad you were listening! :) He still looks so handsome even with a swollen face.
Oh my goodness, poor Ian!! What a trooper...it looks like it hurts pretty dang bad!
Yikes. Do we even want to know what they were trying to accomplish?
I think I'll go bolt down my furniture now...
OH my goodness! That is so scary, but so good that you were around. I'm glad he's doing ok and I hope he doesn't have a broken nose.
Ouch...that looks painful. Poor Ian. I did the same thing when I was little. I was trying to get into the top drawer, so I opened the bottom drawer to use as a step and the dresser tipped ending with a television on my foot.
I'm pretty sure I've never experienced such a shiner. Wow, I think I might have totally freaked.
It is amazing how the spirit works sometimes. I hope he heals soon!
I hate that scream. My heart is braking for Ian. Ouch! That had to hurt something aweful. I hope his nose isn't broken. Give him a hug for me.
poor kid! Thank goodness for no broken nose!!
HOLY SMOKES!!! Poor little dude. That really is quite the shiner. He'll probably have that one for a few weeks, huh. Molly is giving his ouchie kisses on the computer screen!
Side note: love your blog background!
You're right...you don't make this stuff up. You've got the pictures to prove it! The name of your blog is very fitting.
