Slumber Party

Last week Jared was out of town, again. As a way to break up the week I let Tara have her very first slumber party. Lauren and Emily Carroll came over to spend the night.

It was funny to hear the plans that Tara and her friends made. We were going to have a pillow fight, throw carrots in the air, and play Wii. I'm really not sure where the carrot thing came from?

Anyway, we started the night by making pizza for dinner. The girls each got to help. We were instructed to follow Tara's special recipe...hide the pepperoni UNDER the cheese.

Emily, Tara, and Lauren...chefs galore!

It was so funny to hear them talk about how good the pizza was. I almost lost it when the kids all decided this pizza tasted even better than Domino's pizza!

The boys didn't want to be left out of the pictures!

Then while the pizza was cooking we had a balloon fight (the pillow fight morphed into this) The kids all had a great time hitting each other with balloons, blowing balloons up and letting them zoom around the house, and making interesting noises with their balloons. Yay for the $1.00 store for so much entertainment out of so little money!

We watched some dancing...Tara got her recital DVD that day and we all got to watch her performances, again. It was cute. Then it was bed time and the real fun began!

Everyone was tired and ready for bed except Emily who is still a bit young for sleep overs. We made a phone call to her mom to come give a kiss (thank goodness Steph lives 1 street over) Then we all tried sleeping again. At 11:30 long after Tara and Lauren had totally crashed out, Emily decided to go home. I'm just glad it wasn't a 2am phone call we were making.

Notice how Emily's eyes are actually open...

I told her to pretend to be asleep in this one, not bad acting Emily!

Emily came back over in the morning and we made muffins and played Wii. It was a great time, even if I was exhausted!

How fun. I miss just having sleep overs. In this crazy world we live in the only thing that my kids so is "Late overs" I think they miss out on so much fun not being able to have breakfast in the morning with there friend. I am glad that you let Tara have so old fashion fun.
