Ian is Three

I love this kid so much! Look at those super innocent eyes even with a shirt-full of evidence!

We had a full and fun birthday for Ian yesterday! It started early with a soccer game for Eric. (Ian loves the adventure of trying to get on the field and as far from Mom and Dad as possible.) We flew kites at the park and enjoyed each others' company.

After the soccer game we came home and opened presents, which obviously is the best part of any birthday! Thanks Nana and Papa Bob and Gramma Linda and Grandpa Clyde for the gifts. I only wish you could have seen his excitement! It was contagious. Well, until he opened the present from Jared and I. He got a paper cut on the one before and suddenly it wasn't nearly as fun to tear at paper. Here is his quote about the offending package. "That mean present bit me."

We got to make a cake together as well.

I frosted it and Ian got to put the cars on. Notice how embedded they are. I guess he really didn't want them to get away!

I think he enjoyed the cake and his birthday!

Isn't flying kites so much fun! If people wouldn't think I was crazy for flying a kite without a kid, I would do it all the time. I haven't flow a kite in years. Heck, I think I will anyway. Thanks for the idea!

Happy BDay Buddy! I really think that things such as the kite fiasco make for a far more interesting day than if things just went perfect. What would we have to talk about if things didn't get a little crazy?

And the cake is super cute.
