We had lots of fun blowing out candles (it took 3 tries for 5 closely spaced candles)and eating cake covered in spit--from the candle blowing attempts. (No special cakes today that will have to wait for the boys joint party with friends next weekend)

Opening presents was really fun too.
The 2 highlights of the birthday experience came from Tara and Eric respectively.
1st- Eric was being a bit snotty so I told him to shape up or I would put him in time out even if it was his birthday. Tara piped in as every know-it-all-older-sister must and said, "You better listen to her, Eric. I know all about birthdays because I have had so many more of them than you have." At which point I couldn't resist asking her how many birthdays she had had. "SIX," replied Tara. And how many has Eric had? "Five," replied a slightly humbled sister...
2nd- Eric told me, "Mom I'm almost six now. And when I turn six I will be super strong. Strong enough to pick up 2 cars." I laughed so hard that he is almost six now that he has been five for about half an hour!

Happy Birthday, Eric! (I can't believe he's already FIVE! Weren't you pregnant with him when you moved here?)
Oh how I love the sibling rivalry. Seriously I am getting major pay back right now for all the years that I fought with David. Sounds like your getting a good dose of payback also.
Happy Happy Birthday Eric Dear, happy days will come to you all year. If I had one wish then it would be a happy happy birthday to you from me. We love you!
Eric is too stinkin' cute! And he has the best quotes ever! HAPPY BIRTHDAY little dude!
